Helping active adults overcome chronic pain, movement limitations, & recurring injuries.
Many of our clients have already tried physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, injections, or traditional fitness programs. While these approaches may provide temporary relief, lasting results often require a deeper understanding of how movement, stress, recovery, nutrition, and lifestyle work together.
At Maverick Movement Academy, we use a comprehensive assessment process to identify what's been overlooked and create a personalized roadmap toward long-term health, resilience, and performance.

“My goal isn’t to make you dependent on my coaching. My goal is to help you understand your body well enough to make confident decisions for the rest of your life.” - Coach J
Meet Coach J
Coach J founded Maverick Movement Academy on a simple belief:
Your body is constantly communicating with you. Health begins when you learn how to listen.
A military veteran, movement coach, and lifelong student of human performance, J's journey began by helping fellow Marines and Sailors improve fitness, meet weight standards, and perform under demanding conditions. What started as a passion for physical training evolved into a deeper pursuit of understanding the factors that truly drive long-term health and performance.
Over the last decade, he has studied and integrated principles from organizations such as the CHEK Institute, Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning, Pain-Free Performance Specialist Certification, Dynamic Sport Performance, and advanced biomechanics systems including Postural Restoration Institute. These experiences expanded his perspective beyond exercise alone and into the interconnected systems that influence movement, recovery, energy, and resilience.
As the world changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, J recognized that many people were no longer struggling solely with fitness. Chronic stress, poor recovery, sleep disruption, nutritional imbalances, and nervous system overload had become major barriers to health. This realization led him to deepen his work in breathwork, lifestyle coaching, stress management, and holistic health.
Today, Maverick Movement Academy combines movement, strength training, nutrition, recovery, and lifestyle coaching into a practical system designed for real life.
J's coaching philosophy is:
Calm First. Move Second. Train Last.
Rather than forcing people into a one-size-fits-all program, he uses the body's feedback to guide the process. By addressing mobility, stability, strength, recovery, and lifestyle factors together, clients build sustainable results that extend far beyond the gym.
His approach is fascia-focused, evidence-informed, and unapologetically human—meeting people where they are, helping them understand their bodies, and empowering them to develop strength, health, and resilience that lasts for years to come.
Maverick Movement Academy Mission
Empowering others through knowledge and empowering ourselves through independent thought and self-reflection.
